About Kashi Vishwanath Temple
- One of the twelve Jyotirlinga shrines of Lord Shiva, at the spiritual heart of Kashi.
- The present temple was rebuilt in 1780 by Ahilyabai Holkar of Indore.
- The gilded spire and dome date to Maharaja Ranjit Singh's patronage in the 1830s.
- The Vishwanath Dham corridor now links the temple directly to the Ganga ghats.
